2010???

Ok, I've officially crossed the line to being a TERRIBLE blogger.  Hi to all of you who are faithful to periodically check this blog!  I was just taking a minute to scan our Lilee Jane's blog to recall some memories and I noticed it has been too long since I, myself, has visited.  Wow!

As most of you know, we now live in the Pacific Northwest.  We currently are in a suburb of Spokane, WA and still enjoying the nuances of learning a new way of life outside of our native California.  We are currently getting the kids set up with doctors, but Lilee should be having another ultrasound in a month or so.  Since her surgery back in 2007... wow... she has had many ultrasounds and the report is consistent.  No updating surgeries yet!  We continue to be thankful for her heart and healing we've received so far.

I will post more later, but I wanted to update for the few die-hards that continue to check... (that means you, mom).  :o)

Our love to you all!

Late news, but still news... right?

Okay, so it's been over a month since our last visit to Lilee's cardiologist and even longer since my last post. Honestly, having 2 little ones just about maxes me out to my further most limits. Ha! I think sometimes I have it all together and I'm organized and ready to be diligent in my blogging (or dusting) and then... WHAM! Fatigue sets in and I think, 'aaah, what the heck... the blog (and the dust) will still be there tomorrow!' Just being honest. :o)

So, Lilee's last cardiologist appointment went very well. It was really interesting to see her go through the heart ultrasound being six months older than last time. She was calm and just quietly watched the tech "take pictures" of her heart. She's not a little baby anymore. Ugh!

After reviewing the ultrasound, Dr. Juris said there still wasn't any change in her graft. This is good for 2 main reasons. 1.) The surgery continues to be a success in that her body responded well and is performing as it should. 2.) The longer there is "no change", the longer it will be before her next surgery. Fewer surgeries mean getting a larger "hose" on her heart, which means fewer surgeries, which mean larger hoses, which mean... you get the idea.

Anyway, all that to say: We are thrilled with the outcome of the last check up. Yay, God!!! Thank you, Jesus! Watching her grow as an active and lovely 2 year old, it is so hard to believe that she had open heart surgery at 6 weeks old. The other night, when I pulled her out of the bath and was drying her off, she looked down at her scar and said, "what's that?". "That's from your heart surgery, sissy" I replied. "Hawt suh-joowie"? I teared up, couldn't help it! What a love!

That's my news... late, but still news. Love to all of you!

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year, dear friends!

Here we are another year older, a few pounds heavier and a whole lot richer... in friendships. Christmas was a blurrrrrr, as it whizzed by... can't believe it's already time to take down the tree and put the storage bins back into the garage for another year. Wow!

As for Lilee's update, she is a very (VERY) vivacious 2 year old who amazes us daily with Lilee-isms that we've coined "Lilish". Among many things, she loves to say:

Daddy is the best! Baby Jesus Born

Oh-pishaaaaahh! What'cha doin' Mommy?

Aye-chi-wah-wah

So much fun! What a joy it is to watch her develop and change right in front of us, especially when it comes to caring for her little brother. She is ever ready to assist me in anything Lincoln needs, especially in entertaining him. What fun to see them interact. Lincoln in infatuated with his sister!

Lilee has a heart check up this month and I will post ASAP. We did have somewhat of a scare this week when she had a 104.6 fever and her heart was racing. Couldn't help but get anxious... called her cardiologist (Dr. Juris) and he said it was normal for little hearts to race with a fever. So, fever is broken and we're now working out the last bit of her cold... ick. Sorry for all of you who have had a cold recently... YIKES, it's awful!

So, that's it for now. Will be sure to keep you up on any updates!!!

Love to all of you this new year!

Almost 2 years and 6 months!

My goodness, I NEVER thought having 2 "babies" would be so much work! This month, Lilee will be 2 years old! WOW! Lincoln just reached his 6 month mark and we're exhausted! :o) Really enjoying the age Lilee is coming into, since she is soooo curious about everything and consistently surprises us with words she happens to pick up.

On our way to church today, she said, "uh-pane, uh-pane". 'Huh?', I thought? 'What's that?' I asked her again and she pointed up and said, "pie"... seconds passed before I repeated, "airplane in the sky?" She responds with her typical assurance of "uh-huh!" I love it!

Health wise, nothing has changed. She is as active as ever and cracks us up by wanting to jump around in her (now, her brother's) johnny jump up. She spins like a top. I see ice skating lessons in the future!

Last weekend, we went to a bonified country pumpkin patch (Dodasa Farms in Burson) to play. Got some great shots, I thought I'd share. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and looking forward to giving more great updates! Love to all!

Baby Boy Update

video

Greetings Everyone!

Well, our new little addition is now officially 3 months old and is another bright spot in our lives. This is a video I took today, because he was in such a cute mood. He is a dream of a baby. Really easy and relaxed, which is so nice, since our little Lilee bean is a busy (almost) 2 year old. WOW, I've never been so tired! However, they are such joys! Lincoln continues to grow rapidly everyday. He is already 16 lbs. When I tell people how old he is, reactions are funny. They don't believe that this big boy is only 3 months. Ha!

Lilee is developing quite a personality, as well. At 21 months, she's putting words together and beginning to almost reason with us why she should have a cookie and one more cup of juice before dinner. She's in the video background making sure she's being heard! :o)

I'm currently working on our first ever 2 kiddo video montage, but life is a little faster with 2 kids, so it takes me twice as long.

LILEE'S HEART UPDATE: On July 16th, we took Lilee for her ultrasound check up. After reviewing the ultrasound, Dr. Juris said that there is still NO CHANGE in her heart graft. Yea! In the past, we wait 3-4 months between appointments. This time, he said we don't need to come back for 6 months! Hallelujah! How cool! So, we'll get through the rest of this year and the holidays with no heart check ups... Merry Christmas! :oD

Thanks for keeping tabs on the Finches and as always, thanks for your prayers! Love to you all!
