A New Day

“So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love.

There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Tonight, I am reminded again of how grateful I am that there is NOTHING that can separate us from God’s love. That means, nothing. Not surgeries, not a virus, not a fire or flood, or civil unrest. Not fear, jealously, pain, lack of understanding, emotions, past decisions, self image or failed attempts.

His love covers all.

Today was an overall good day. I’ve heard many people come through surgeries and mention how days can have ups and downs like a roller coaster. That was today.

Lilee and I (mama) both slept fairly well, especially when her pain was under control. Once she was up and ate a little breakfast, she seemed to be more perky and talkative... until late morning. A challenging task had us both in tears and several teams of workers surrounding Lilee to work through it. That was a “down”.

After catching up from that set back, the rest of the day yielded a happier girl, some smiles, a few jokes and a few more bites at meal times. At the urging of her determined doctors and excellent nurses here at Sacred Heart, she has been standing, moving and walking successfully through the halls. Little by little, we’re coming “up”.

Several of you have texted us such kind notes, reassuring us of your prayers and support. We need you! We are all so grateful for the little videos, funny pictures and text encouragement!!!! All the ways you stand with us, we know we are covered in prayer! Thank you!

Our goals for tomorrow are drainage tubes should be removed, continuing to walk often and further distance, deeper breathing exercises to promote healthy lungs.

Spirits are higher today, we are happy to see. Leaving you tonight with a goofy selfie...

So glad to hear Lilee (and mama) are fighting through the pain! ❤️ We’ve been praying for a successful surgery and recovery, and all good news is welcome. Recovery is hard, but what a good and faithful God we have on our side. Hugs from the California cousins... here’s hoping we are able to visit you all sometime in the next year, especially Lilee - healed and happy!
